John J. Redfern, Jr. A451: Texas Oilman, RPI Trustee, Theta Xi Brother
\"They talk about greedy oilmen...I plead guilty to being one,\" so said John Redfern A451 once. Yet this Texas oilman, who hailed from New Jersey, also gave plenty back. A Life Patroon and RPI Trustee who was very involved in the activities of the Rensselaer Alumni Association, Brother Redfern also found time to help coordinate efforts to raise money during the mid 1980s for Alpha Chapter renovations. Tragically, Brother Redfern passed away after suffering injuries in an automobile accident in September 1986.
